"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." -Nelson Mandella (orginally written by Marianne Williamson). "To laugh often and love much; To win the respect of intelligent persons and affection of children; To earn the approbation of honest citizens and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To give of ones self; To leave the world a little better; Whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a reduced social condition; To have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; To know even one life has breathed easier because you lived. This is to have succeeded." -Ralph Waldo Emerson Home | Browse | Search | Invite | Film | Mail | Blog | Favorites | Forum | Groups | Events | Videos | Music | Comedy | Classifieds

My Interests

Creating, acting, writing, directing, theatre & film-a constant desire to make & do. Story telling and those that do it so well. Teaching and the desire for constant learning. Travel, adventure to misadventure. Family & keeping connections with friends. So much laughing. Music & unabashidly singing in the car or shower or wherever (and catching others doing it too is just as wonderful). Seeing the beauty in the oddest places or moments and those times, like when the music matches the movement or moment right then and there without you trying to force it-brilliant. The beach (I sometimes forget it's there). Inhibition & Passion. Oh, and pool and darts and bowling-I tend to suck but love to play regardless. Oh, and drinking chocolate milk while shopping-they really love it when you do that...

I'd like to meet:

The ones that I am supposed to meet-easy there, it's a thinker...

Music:

Many, many types. From one extreme to the other. And moments like these... And these...

Movies:

The Big Chill, Johnny Depp movies (in general), Mocumentaries (particularly the Christopher Guest types), Mystic River, When Harry Met Sally, Steel Magnolias, The Royal Tannenbaums, Moulin Rouge, Amelie, The Princess Bride, Upside of Anger, Mad Hot Ballroom, Dangerous Liasons, Two Girls and a Guy, Indiana Jones, Regarding Henry, The American President, Wag The Dog, Goodwill Hunting, Little Miss Sunshine, Walk the Line, a nice romantic comedy here and there, and certainly the occasional big shoot'em up, blow up, not much plot summer blockbuster is always there for a good time, and I'm certain their are more I love...

Television:

The Riches, Six Feet Under (and I'm so mixed that it's over), Entourage, West Wing, Random Documentaries-the ones you can't believe they've made but then end up as questions in Trivial Pursuit one day, The Amazing Race (The only reality show I actually tune in to watch), The Daily Show, Roseanne, Re-runs and perhaps there's more-I forget.

Books:

Atonement, The Memory Keeper's Daughter, Running with Scissors, The Life of Pi, White Oleander, The Da Vinci Code, The Dive from Clausen's Pier, The Secret Life of Bees, Lovely Bones, And Then There Were None, The Little Prince, Number the Stars, Anne Lamont, most Barbara Kingsolver, I'm a sucker for Harry Potter, Shel Silverstein, Shakespeare, Shepard and plays in general, and more who's titles escape me....

"Should" & "Supposed To"

Perhaps "should" and "supposed to" ought to be taken out of the english language.  Maybe just for a little while, to see what it would force us to not just say, but also do.   LISTEN TO THE...

He Looked At Me
