I was born in Manchester,grew up in Moss side and Wythenshawe.I started self learning guitar at an early age main influences then being my brother and Dave Johns who put me on the right track.Started martial arts at 11 yrs Karate then Wing chun under Master John Darwen(RIP)Studied under Mark Jackson and Sifu Leung Ting.Praticed Nunchaku and Escrima under one of the most respected all rounder Steve Powell.Had seminar with Danny Inosanto many yrs ago.I was involved in forming an organisation that took under-privilege kids to Europe in our own buses. They stayed in host families sometimes to see what life was like in whatever country we were in, alot of them I hope got an insight to what life can be like, rather than turning down the wrong path.
I was taught the Bodhran by Vin Grainger a good teacher of Irish music.Played in many a session in the Irish pubs of Manchester and further afield met some fantastic musicians, Mike McGoldrick,Simon Kaar,Sean Regan,Bernard O Rielly of the Salutation Pub and many more.
I have been a fly fisherman for twenty odd years caught many a trout but not many salmon.
Worked as doormen for 10 years had my eyes opened doing that job,met and worked with some right hard lads and also met my now wife who was a medical student then.
Married now for 8 yrs with 2 cracking daughters.
Life slowed down after getting married and having children but I wouldnt have it any other way.
