About Me
James S Rutherford has firmly established himself as a respected songwriter, performer and musician having played the LA club circuit for many years. He is a graduate of M.I., the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, and is a successful businessman and actor. To friends and fans he is best known as Jimmy.
In 2004, James joined forces with producer and AMC recording artist Daniel Bautista to form the rock band OPEN WINDOW (self titled album available on C.D. Baby)
James plays lead guitar with a style and passion reminiscent of Jimmy Page and has a charismatic stage presence that makes a connection with his audience. Daniel’s distinctive vocals are sexy and rich. Rounding out the fabulous foursome are Wayne Rothstein on bass and vocals, and John Aponte on drums. In 2006 they were honored as nominees for "Independent Rock Album of the Year", and received the award for "Best Lyrical Content" at the 16th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards where they performed on the main stage.
James leads an extremely blessed and fulfilling life as a devoted Father to two adorable children, Businessman, Singer/Songwriter, Author & Actor. In spite of the many demands on his time, he has managed over the past couple of years to write several songs for his debut solo album, FREEDOM, which has just been released. He wants to take this opportunity to thank Daniel Bautista, Matt Thorne, Wayne Rothstein and Chris Sax who helped make this dream a reality for him.
