About Me

My primary interest with My Space is to promote my band,MUTHALAND, a Detroit based Funk, R&B and Rock band. Muthaland pays tribute to some of the greatest R&B performers of all time. Some of those legendary artist include, James Brown, Kool & The Gang, Parliment/Funkadelic, Rick James, The Bar-Kays, The Commodores, AWB, War and Slave. An evening with Muthaland proves to be very entertaining and nostalgic. As for me, I am the bassist and one of the founding member's of Muthaland. I began my musical journey at the tender age of 8. My father, an accomplished pianist and guitarist, with a deep jazz back round, was my first teacher. Along with my father, I've also been fortunate enough to have studied with several other talented and highly educated musicians. For years I've been inspired by a multitude of bassists, and other musicians for that matter, but nobody has moved me in the way the late great James Jamerson has, the most distinctive member of Motown's Funk Brothers. On behalf of Muthaland, I hope to see you out sometime!
