I am here for Friends

About Me

I'm an average (in most respects), hardworking 21-year-old with a range of interests and two part-time jobs, one working as a Teaching Assistant at a village primary school and the other working as a Customer Assistant at a major retailer. I would like to become more involved in education in the future, though am unsure whether to go into full-time teacher training at the moment.

My Interests

Playing video games is my main hobby, with my favourite game series being Sonic the Hedgehog, Grand Theft Auto, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter, Tomb Raider, Tony Hawk's, Driver and Gran Turismo.I also play darts for a team in the local league and take an active role in supporting my local football team, announcing team and player names over the tannoy.Swimming, jogging, cycling, watching classic comedies and quiz shows on TV and surfing the net take up what's left of my leisure time!

I'd like to meet:

Anyone with the same interests as me, basically! I'd also love to hear from any old school friends, many of which I haven't made contact with for at least 5 years - feel free to add me as a friend and let me know what you're up to now!One moan however: I am getting sick and tired of receiving friend invites from spammers claiming to be 'nude models' (note the inverted commas). If you send me profiles like this, I guarantee 100% you will be denied. Don't waste my time and yours. I did NOT sign up to MySpace to look at pornographic garbage. End of rant.

Music:

I'm a big fan of video game music, in particular soundtracks from Sonic the Hedgehog, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, Ratchet & Clank, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast - you're listening to the awesome Euro Remix of Magical Sound Shower right now!Other bands and artists I'd like to mention are The Police / Stewart Copeland, Mutato Muzika, Hideki Naganuma, Richard Jacques, Kaiser Chiefs and The Corrs.

Movies:

I'm not a huge film buff, but some of my favourites include the Jurassic Park, Spider-Man and Pirates of the Caribbean trilogies, Batman Begins and The Simpsons Movie.

Television:

Classic comedies and quiz shows, my favourites of which include: Deal or No Deal, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, The Weakest Link, Have I Got News For You, Robot Wars, Eggheads, Takeshi's Castle, One Foot in the Grave, Mr. Bean, Blackadder, TV'S Naughtiest Blunders, You've Been Framed and Harry Hill's TV Burp. Check out the Mr. Bean video on my profile - it's my favourite episode!Oh, and I HATE all reality and 'talent' shows with a vengeance. Yes, this DOES mean The X Cacktor, Prancing On Ice, Big Bother and their tedious ilk.Note to ITV and the BBC: bring back quality Saturday night programming like Big Break, The Generation Game, Noel's House Party, Catchphrase, Family Fortunes, You Bet, Friends Like These, Dog Eat Dog, Winning Lines and Gladiators. Trust me, you will get more viewers. Not everyone likes to watch Z-list celebrities try to sing, dance, ice skate, cook meals, breathe oxygen etc. week after week after week.Sorry for ranting, but this REALLY annoys me.

Books:

I mainly only read video game magazines such as the Official UK PlayStation Magazine, PSM3, Retro Gamer, gamesTM and GamesMaster. I also used to collect Sonic the Comic for many years before its sad demise.I really need to get round to reading more books!

Heroes:

My two greatest heroes are easily my Mum and Dad, the best parents one could ever wish for. My Sister has also been an inspiration to me in many ways.I admire comic legends such as Rowan Atkinson, Richard Wilson, Harry Hill, Paul Merton, Richard Curtis, Ben Elton, Stephen Fry and Angus Deayton.I also have great respect for anyone who works with and helps to care for children, teenagers, the elderly and those who are handicapped or disabled. We are also forever in debt to all those who gave their lives for our freedom during both World Wars, and of course to all the brave individuals who have lost their lives as a result of wars since then, or, sadly, in wars which continue to this day.Basically, I admire anyone who is honest, hardworking and usually receives little recognition and reward as a result in today's society. For this reason, I do NOT consider Premiership footballers, 90% of today's pop singers and Big Brother contestants to be Heroes.
