First residency in 1993, age 11Biography:DJ-ing since the tender age of 10 Ahmad Ajam or letter-chopped to Mad-Jam, has evolved from the elementary-school house parties to the biggest clubs and events around the world. He’s currently active in promoting, audio imaging, radio & TV broadcasting, while maintaining a profile as one of the Middle East’s most popular DJs.
Having lived in Beirut from 1991-2004 before moving to Dubai, he keeps a database of all happenings in the Middle East Clubbing scene through forums, friends and promoters. He also produces and mixes Club Frequency on Mix FM- a weekly radio show inaugurated in June 2000- dedicated to Lebanon’s clubbers (now syndicated to a number of online radio stations). Mad-Jam has also contributed to a number of cultural and social publications including MTV’s new Middle East based show “Salaamâ€. In 2004, he picked-up BA in Communication Arts from the Lebanese American University and continues his media & TV broadcast production career.
Mad-Jam’s sound is best described as “party music†and varies from vocal to progressive house with a touch of funk, electro and just about everything in between. He is renowned for 3-way mixing by filtering, live re-editing and effecting. He’s played in most club nights in Beirut, along with big-scale events such as the Bacardi Festival, and the Red Bull Air Race which gathered more than 80,000 spectators.
Mad-Jam’s played warm-up and follow-up sets with some of the biggest DJs on the planet including Sasha, John Digweed, The Prodigy, Steve Lawler, Danny Howells, Paul Oakenfold, Antoine Clamaran, Anthony Pappa, Amadeus, Paul Van Dyk, Bob Sinclar, Pete Tong, Armin Van Buuren, Robbie Rivera, Benny Benassi, Dave Seaman, Sander Klienenberg, Hernan Cattaneo, Ferry Corsten, Carl Cox and Tiesto. He is a true supporter of the dance music scene across the Middle East, and continues to play gigs in Kuwait, Jordan, Qatar, Cyprus, Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon and pulls in over 2,000 people each week at his current residency @Peppermint Club in Dubai.
