Looks can be deceiving, and whatever preconceived notion people may have of her; she proves that she cannot be judged solely by her appearance. Born in Thailand, her and her family escaped hard conditions to immigrate to the United State in the 80’s. It was evident as a young girl that she loved to perform. Through imitation of musical influences on television, participation in choir, band, and the school dance team - she added to her talents.
Her desire to sing grew as she did. Her choir teacher recognized these skills and even allowed her to perform solos of popular hits during recitals. The choir was not challenging enough for her though, so she sought and even created opportunities to showcase her talent.
Orathay continued to display her skills as much as she could. She won talent shows, volunteered to sing at events, and even sang in her father’s band. Her mother was also blessed vocally, so they both added to her musical surroundings.
Orathay teamed up with producer/songwriter Alexander Perls in 2004 and has had three top 40 releases in Europe. She currently resides outside of Philadelphia and continues to write and record R&B and Pop music.
Orathay has the talent, the desire, and the belief. There is no substitute for hard work, imagination, or persistence; she possesses all three.
