"If I was in music for the money and the women, I would have stopped a long time ago..."
Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist/Attorney Jeff Brown is bad at talking himself up. So he usually doesn't. He writes, he sings, he plays, he practices law, and that's pretty much it. He has a pretty good voice. He likes to play guitar. He doesn't dance much. He writes songs that make people feel good. He likes it when people say 'hi' to him after shows. He's bad at playing 'Guitar Hero III'.
He's been heavily involved in the Chicago acoustic music scene, and before that, he was pretty involved in the Chicago rock and metal and hardcore scenes. Sure, it's a bit of a leap, but some of the heavier influences can still be heard in his quieter, more introspective works. And he'll still break out an acoustic Iron Maiden cover or blistering guitar solo if you ask nicely.
This page represents Jeff's solo work, but if you want more information on his band, The Jeff Brown Extra Large Trio , or his guitar work in Jackson Combs , feel free to follow the links. You won't be disappointed... Or you might be. But if you are, it's best to keep it to yourself. Do you want a chance to be a part of the first Jeff Brown Extra Large Trio full-length album? There's still time! I have set up a paypal account that will accept any and all donations which will be used for studio time at Chicago's Handwritten Recording in the Spring of 2008. Anyone who donates will have their names added to the liner notes of the CD, and anyone who donates more than $10 will receive a copy of the CD when it is released free of charge. If you want to donate more, I'll make sure that you get something even cooler. Here's an opportunity to help out a group of starving musicians, or to give an easy Birthday gift, or to do something random and nice. Trust me, it will all be appreciated...
Top Friends List is a combination of bands/artists I'm playing with in the immediate future and singers and musicians who I just respect the everliving hell out of. You should check them out!
