Dylan Lloyd; A 20 year old singer/songwriter born on the south side of Chicago, Illinois that plays the piano, guitar, bass, and drums. Sounds like your typical young talent...quite on the contrary. There is simply one word to describe this young, up-and-coming artist...original. When you hear is music, you get instantly taken over by his beautifully crafted melodies and his powerfully written lyrics. He is one of the most promising young artists you will hear and/or see today. His music attracts people from the whole musical spectrum. From the early age of 3 until the age of 12, he would recall always humming tones in his head to satiate the hunger of writing because his own knowledge of the fundamentals of music writing was not sufficient. So then finally, after nine years of zero satisfaction, he had received a brief three month instruction at the age of twelve at the Fine Arts Building in downtown Chicago. His teacher, a jazz/classical piano instructor named Richard Heinberger, had also seen Dylan's wonderful talent and wanted him to stay under his wing. But it was not meant to be, because after leaving formal instruction, he then taught himself piano, guitar, bass, and drums by riding on three months of knowledge from his teacher, the influences of his idols (Michael Jackson, Prince, Ben Folds, and Dave Grohl), and the passion and desire to create the best music that anyone in his time has ever and will ever create. At the age of 16, he joined a band that became a very popular local band in the Chicagoland area named "Pangea". From 2003-2005, Dylan Lloyd and his progressive/jazz/rock band Pangea, would play everywhere. From block parties in Beverly Hills, Chicago, Illinois, to the Rave opening up for critically acclaimed band "Medeski, Martin, and Wood" in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After all of this success had come at him so fast, he then wanted to venture out into a different world; A solo career. So in July of 2005, Pangea broke up, and Dylan Lloyd went on his own. Now he has been playing up and down the Chicagoland area for the last year. From Wrigleyville, to Millennium Park in downtown Chicago, to even still, the local graduation parties, he is continually making a huge name for himself wherever he goes.
"Music is life that lives forever. If the only thing that I can do in this world is take one person out of their everyday life of misery, heartache, anxiety, frustration, and all of the other bullshit drama that goes on in our daily lives...for just a few minutes...then I truly will feel like I am doing the best that I possibly can, to help bring joy to other people's lives, when they may be having a hard time finding it on their own." - Dylan Lloyd
