Arash Radpour was born in Tehran (Iran) in 1976.He lives in Rome since 1980. After having received a diploma in Cinema at the Rossellini School of Rome, he works for some years as professional photographer. In 2003 he moves temporarily to New York where he gets in touch with some representatives of the international art scene. Back in Rome, in 2004, he has the opportunity to show his night landscapes made during his stay in the States, getting the favour of the critics. His NIGHT project takes part in the exhibition called “Miracolo a Milanoâ€, with some pieces intentionally shot in the area of Milan. About the same time he participates in the show called “IL MALE, Esercizi di Pittura Crudele†at the Stupinigi estate, in the outskirts of Turin. 2005 sees finally the conceiving of his first personal show, THE SWEET HEREAFTER, a photo installation on the theme of suspended time. From then on the artist is totally focused on a work of personal research, through photography and video art. In February 2007 he is asked, from the Italian Foreign Affairs Office and the National Gallery of Modern Art of New Delhi, to join a selected artist delegation in order to represent Italy through an official exhibition in India. Three openings and three different places: the Victoria Memorial Hall in Kolkata and the National Museum of Modern Art in New Delhi and Mumbay. Nowdays he’s in the 52nd Venice Biennale, at the Spazio Thetis/Arsenale, with a show called “Faccia Leiâ€.
