My Interests

in 2004, i dove real deep into the local music scene and started helping out two bands that had started up in my town. Mellow Blend & also Eclectic. I was first introduced to the band mates, Jake(Drums) & Josh(guitar) Cavinder. They were the younger brothers of my good time friend; Joe C. These kids could fuckin' jam for being 10 years younger than I.... They used to play at their house when Joe C. would have parties and we would make them jam for us. I was introduced to their bandmates at my apartment. They were some cool cats... Mr. Dan Blair(bass), Connor Dube'(guitar), and RJ Acanfora(percussion)..... jammed out a lil bit acoustic at the apartment and i was totally hooked from that point..... I never even actually saw them play as a whole, until the night of their first show, which happened to be at my benefit!!!
I was so impressed with their music that night, that I purchased some recording equiptment to capture them on a regular basis!! I didnt wanna contact someone everytime i wanted them to be recorded; so i took it upon myself to buy the equiptment and make it a hobby for myself. In the meantime, Jake & Josh became part of another band, Eclectic... consisting of Anthony Granica(guitar) & Seth Sim(bass).... soon to follow would be Jen Rivera(vocals) & David Machajewski(keys)....
I started spending my freetime promoting both bands, helping them out anyway i could.... it was a freakin rush to be at those shows... the music was my escape from all the harsh bullshit that i was am going through!!! soon after all this was gettin' good..... both bands labeled me as their manager/ soundman!!! it was definitely a blessing and an honor to be that for the bands.....
With this equiptment and crowd i was rollin' with; i started meeting other talented musicians and began recording for them all as well!! This toatlly relaxes me from all stress!!! its like one big hard-on for music you could say!!!!

In the last few years my life has had its ups and downs!! im definitely thankful for the Ups... not so grateful for the Downs.
I might as well start with the Biggest Downer of all since its something literally on my mind all the time. In the summer of 2004, just one week before the so-called "Final Phish Show"; i was diagnosed with Meningioma Tumor near the Pineal gland of the brain!!
Just imagine going to the doctor to get some sinus medication... waiting in the office for about 20 minutes, and the guy coming in and telling you that i should be rushed to another hospital for an MRI. i fuckin' totally freaked out. I went through a series of tests and a conclusion was made. I had a pea-sized tumor in the center of my brain and there is nothing they can do about it!! it is more dangerous to operate on it than it is to leave it!!!
On 01-23-05, a benefit was held for me to pay for outsanding medical bills. My family, friends, and patrons of the community all came together and threw a huge frigin' bash in my honor....
At first, i didn't want anything to do with a benefit... it made me sorta feel like this was the beginning of the end of me!! i didn't want to be put on a pedistal and be the center of attention in the worst moment ever in my life!!! I said that i would have the party on one condition, or I would refuse to be apart of it. this is where the Ups start coming into play!!! I invited 3 bands... Rick James Dealer; a crazy group of guys from sweet old Lackawanna.... that has amazing stage presence.... Fudge; a dear friend that plays blues/ bluegrass solo.... and the third band; to play the benfit.... whom i will tell you about in the next paragraph!! Just think.... a first show for a young uprising jamband, and a crowd of over 600 people plus, for their first show. They fuckin' blew the roof off the place...I knew in my heart that this day was going to put a smile on my face for a long time.
All in all, $11,000 was raised on that night.... now and again, i think back to that night... and still to this day, even as i type this, i get choked up about it everytime!!!
