Guitar solos, editing my MySpace profile, playing in my band, achieving feats of extraordinary badass-ery, zombies, sour patch watermelons, kickin' it, lickin' it, and takin' it to the next level.
You. Anyone that wants to make me famous...and Dwight Schrute.
Oh yeah, and the AIM name? The Mark 83.
Time for an update! I'll just tell you what i've been listening to lately.
Lamely enough, i've been obsessing over our (Seconds Away) new EP that came out on May 12th. I tend to go a little nuts for anything i'm involved with musically, particularly when it's first released...but listen to 'Candle' or 'Emergency Shower and Eye Bath (ES+EB)' and tell me that shit isn't stuck in your head...and if you do, i'll deny it up and down...yeah.
As always, i'm on a Coheed kick. Lately, i've been ripping through 'The Second Stage Turbine Blade.' Love that CD...particularly 'Time Consumer.' I get a raging semi every time I hear Claudio Sanchez sing, but then it goes away cause I remember that he's a man.
Otherwise, I also like: Iron Maiden, Circa Survive, Dredg, Van Halen, some of the whole might-be-emo, might-be-punk, who-the-fuck-knows crowd like Taking Back Sunday/Blink 182 (later years)/the Used/and so on, Tantric, Silvertide (saviors of rock and roll), Motorhead, Rick Astley (never gonna give YOU up, Rick! hahahaha!), Saosin, 3, and of course...Seconds Away. From what? From rocking your 'junk' into your ass...then pulling them back ever so slightly...but that last part is Del's job.
I love movies. I love them so much, i'm just going to name genres. Drama, comedy, action, horror, sci-fi, chocolate.
I'll throw a few other faves of mine in here:
the Back to the Future series, the Indiana Jones series, Fallen, Nighthawks (best movie you've never seen--fuck yeah Stallone!), Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek: Wrath of Khan--and I assure you guys, aside from watching some Next Generation when I was younger (AS DID THE REST OF YOU!) I am in no way a Trekkie. I just find that those are two incredible films that just happen to be set in a sci-fi universe looked down upon. Seriously, Wrath of Khan might be the sweetest dealing-with-old-age-while-in-the-midst-of-a-submarine-battl
e film ever...but since that won't sway you, i'll regain my rock cred by talking up the rest of my favorites: Freaked, Grandma's Boy, Billy Madison, Return to Oz, 2001, Labyrinth, Pan's Labyrinth, Run Ronnie Run...i'm done now, you guys get it? I like zombies, monsters, robots, dinosaurs, comedy, pot jokes, and dealing with old age.
24 gets increasingly lame by the week so I don't bother with that anymore...but I am gay for The Shield. I also like To Catch A Predator (featuring the world's weakest host ever, Dateline NBC's Chris Hansen, who I'm now holding responsible for the band Hanson...and yeah, I know they're not related. All I can say is 'homonyms.') How I Met Your Mother. Mr. Show. Mythbusters. The Office. Supernatural. Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
Those are my main shows. I watch way more TV now that I have a DVR though.
I doubt that my favorite books will sway you to even pick up a book in the first place...welcome to the new world. I like Richard Matheson, Chuck Palahniuk, H.P. Lovecraft, Neil Gaiman, and anything funny.
I tend to find that my life straddles the line between Nikki Sixx and David Lee Roth. Yeah, i'm sure it sounds lame to you, but they'd probably kick your ass and then remind you that they more than likely had sex with your mom at either the 'Theater of Pain' or 'Fair Warning' tour.
