Add in the phrase, "from what?" and you complete the cliff-hanging question that Mark Borison, Richie Brees, Del DeGiuseppe, Jake Bertke, and Brad Hollmann seek to answer. Every change has been a welcomed challenge and every setback has brought forth new opportunities for Seconds Away. After finishing 8th in Emergenza's 2005 Regional Finals among over a thousand bands spanning from Cleveland to St. Louis, Seconds Away hit the studio for the first time, recording with Rob Nadler from On-line Studio (now with Waycross Studios) and released their EP "Your New Favorite Wrong" in January 2006. The well-received debut opened up many opportunities for the band and allowed them make their mark in the Cincinnati music scene.
Nearing the end of 2007, Shane (drums) and Mark (bass/vocals) moved on to form "The Press Club" while Del and Richie continued forward with Seconds Away. After a fortunate introduction to Erwin Musper (whose name has been credited on albums for such artists as Van Halen, David Bowie, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Mick Jagger, Elton John, Scorpions, Jeff Beck, Chicago, and Metallica) and his studio, The Bamboo Room, Del and Richie decided to hold off the search for replacement members and hit the studio again. The result...Seconds Away's eleven song sophomore album, "Tongue In Cheek" released June 2008, Friday the 13th.
2008 has been one of high action for the band. Seconds Away has christened new members Jake (drums) and Brad (bass and harmony vocals) with fire by taking opening slots for Avenged Sevenfold, Atreyu, and Bullet For My Valentine in the Taste Of Chaos tour, as well as Saves The Day and Metro Station in the Bamboozle Road tour. The band also briefly partnered with Starzz Promotions, who has represented Cincinnati bands Close To Home, Black Tie Affair, Upset Victory, and Made Avail from Chicago.
With the lineup set, Seconds Away is again hitting the stage in both the local and regional music scenes while writing for its third album!
