Wayne is lame!

About Me

My name is Arthur Vint and I’m a Tucson, Arizona based drummer, percussionist, and musician. I recently relocated to the New York area where I am a jazz studies major at William Paterson University, but am doing my best to keep a foot in both the East and West coast scenes.
I’ve released two solo albums that are totally amazing. "10 out of 10." "Five Stars!!!" The first album, released in 2004, is entitled "If I Were A Vacuum, I’d Suck You Into A Bag" and has twenty tracks of all original material. The latest is 2005’s "Yellow Man" and it has fifteen tracks, including three covers and a couple collaberations...I played all the other instruments.
I’m the founding member and band leader of The Afrodelic Stegosaurchestra , a 13 piece band that plays a blend of original afrobeat and funk music. We were winners of the 2006 Arizona Daily Star/John Lennon Songwriting Contest "Battle of the Bands" and released our first full length CD in January of 2007.
While in Tucson, I had the pleasure to perform/record with musicians such as Naim Amor , Matt Mitchell , Marianne Dissard , Ian Stapp , Andrew Collberg , Brice Winston , Joel Gottschalk , Marco Rosano , Dante Rosano , The Arizona Roadrunners , Andrew Halchak , Mike Moynihan , Scott Black , Teddy Raven , The Lame Deer Collective , Afro Steg , Adrianne DeNike , Michael John Serpe , Sleep Like Trees , Jim Kuemmerle , Akila Fields , Brandon Kosters , The Low Ones , The Ad Nauseam Project , A Very Large Ensemble , Arthur Statman, and a bunch of other folks.
Since moving to the East Coast, I’ve performed/recorded with Sam Trapchak , Matt Vashlishan , Matt Panayides , Can Cancaya , Jonas Labhart , Dark Square , New Miracle Plan , and Jazz Band Classic , among many others.
------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------
On May 30th 2007, in a collaboration between A Very Large Ensemble and The Ad Nauseam Project , nine people participated in "New Music Night" at the Red Room in Tucson, performing Terry Riley’s "In C" and Philip Glass’ "Music In Fifths." Recordings from the show can be found here . Dig ze pics.
I do some other crap, but I forgot and you don’t care anyways. I just like music a lot. Tell me what you think of mine.
