Sean P Jones is currently a junior attending the University of North Texas at Denton, where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies. Sean grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska, where he studied percussion with Joe Holmquist, Nate Campbell, and his father Richard K. Jones. At UNT, Sean has had the distinct pleasure of studying with the master teacher Ed Soph. Other percussion teachers have included Joel Fountain, Christopher Deane, Paul Rennick, and Ed Smith. He has also received valuable direction from UNT jazz faculty John Murphy, Lynn Seaton, Jay Saunders, Jim Riggs, and Neil Slater. While at UNT, Sean has played with The Jazz Rep Ensemble, Three O’clock and Two O’clock Lab Bands. Sean has also performed with faculty members John Murphy, Lynn Seaton and guest artists Jay Leonhardt, Bruce Forman, Steve Davis, and Chris Potter.Check the Website for Upcoming Dates
