These California kids make some of the best Jesus and Mary Chain meets-New Order-meets-new-fucking-hottness I have ever heard. I'm not gonna go on and on about how they rock. [ Read on ]

So what do Anything After sound like. Clues? They list bands like Jesus & Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine and Ride amongst their influences. I am a sucker for a fucking loud and distorted guitar sound. And that's exactly what Anything After offer. They sound immense. Searing guitars a la the Mary Chain's You Trip Me Up or Happy When It Rains, burst out of each song like they want to tear you apart. [ Read On ]

"Got the CD. Thanks it's awesome. I know bands hate to hear comparisons, but its like if Jesus + Mary Chain went lo-fi and threw out their Beach Boys records."

Shoegazing Dangling: 11/20/06 from www.marsneedsguitars.com
Anything After are from Downey, California. Waves of fuzzy, distorted, feedback driven guitars (think JAMC among one of many) dominate the scene here. This is Shoegaze crossed with an 80's post punk flavor. Very promising music from these California dudes. [ Read On ]
InfuzedZine: Anything After Review 12/14/2006 www.myspace.com/infusedzine
Rocking off is Not What it seems a distorted grunged up little number filled with wicked little rhythms and guitar riffs. This is really their strong point, the guitar work really sounds polished off and well thought out. The vocals give this trippy vibe to the track, superb work put in, I dig it! The tempo of the guitars makes me think of The Cure, which is awesome! [ Read More ]
Now, shoegazing music is an interesting phenomenon, a bunch of people get together in a dark place, stare at their shoes and sway to the droning music. If this sounds like your cup of tea then ‘Anything After’ is the band for you. The music is very droney with feedback fuzz galore, echoy lyrics and song after song of the same sounding stuff. I was a bit worried when the first song “All for this†had nothing really to offer, but life soon surged through this Ep as song after song improved with ‘the best song on cd’ award going to the last “Not What it seemsâ€, great bass lines and drum beats make this song a great listen. This music is either your thing or it’s not, but give it a try you never know what you might like!Band Biography
