About Me

Burning Man 2006, "Uchronia" Burn

"I will not be just a tourist in the world of images, just watching images passing by which I cannot live in, make love to, possess as permanent sources of joy and ecstasy." -Anais Nin

"Nothing exists until or unless it is observed. An artist is making something exist by observing it. And his hope for other people is that they will also make it exist by observing it. I call it "creative observation." Creative viewing." -William S. Burroughs

"Whenever a taboo is broken, something good happens, something vitalizing. Taboos after all are only hangovers, the product of diseased minds, you might say, of fearsome people who hadn't the courage to live and who under the guise of morality and religion have imposed these things upon us." -Henry Miller

"Two Girls", 2006

"Wishing Well", 2005

My Interests

I paint and make stuff. I love Art, erotic literature (Pauline Reage, Anais Nin, Marquis de Sade), pin-up girls, wine, sleeping in, eggnog lattes, Pinecrest Lake, Ice Cream, Halloween. Ancient religion and spirituality, specifically matriarchal religions but I find them all fascinating. Black and White movies on rainy days. Shoes. Thrift Stores. And of course my love bug Shane.

"The real leader has no need to lead - he is content to point the way." -Henry Miller

"When we blindly adopt a religion, a political system, a literary dogma, we become automatons. We cease to grow." - Anais Nin

"America is a hurricane, and the only people who do not hear the sound are those fortunate if incredibly stupid and smug White Protestants who live in the center, in the serene eye of the big wind." -Norman Mailer

"I'd like to ask you, Mr. President, your decision to invade Iraq has caused the deaths of thousands of Americans and Iraqis, wounds of Americans and Iraqis for a lifetime. Every reason given, publicly at least, has turned out not to be true. My question is, why did you really want to go to war? From the moment you stepped into the White House, from your Cabinet -- your Cabinet officers, intelligence people, and so forth -- what was your real reason? You have said it wasn't oil -- quest for oil, it hasn't been Israel, or anything else. What was it?" -Helen Thomas
