About Me

Three bands have played a big part in my life; The Beatles, I got into them as eveybody else was getting into Punk, The Damned, I got there in the end but not until 1982 and The Hellacopters. One of my friends said she was going to a gig and that she thought it'd be right up my street. I hadn't heard anything by the 'copters but watched the whole show with my mouth on the floor. I couldn't believe how good this band was. I didn't think bands made this kind of music anymore (I didn't get out much in them days). The rest is history. We started our own CD/record mail-order business because we knew all this great Scandinavian music was out there but our local High Street shops looked like we'd come from another planet (baby) when we requested the latest Gluecifer CD. It didn't pay the bills, but that wasn't the point (I wish it was). Good music needs as many outlets as possible. Since then The Paranoid Squirrel has become a podcast which can be found at:- www.theparanoidsquirrelrockshow.podshow.com The reason we stopped doing the mailorder was simple; the kids weren't buying what we were selling, but we still think you, YES YOU, need to hear kick ass Rawk n' Roll

My Interests

Record Collecting, gig going and beer drinking. I used to be an avide Trainspotter, stop laughing 'Love Song' by the Damned is all about trainspotting. Don't do it much now. I miss the EPB, CEPs and SUBs and I'm thinking of building a model layout in my loft.

I'd like to meet:

John Lennon. I've met all my other hereos and they're just like you and me apart from the fact they're talented, famous and if they're lucky rich! I'd also like to meet the bastard who stole my train set in 1979 out of my folks garage!

Music:

Beatles, Damned, Hellacopters, Backyard Babies, Gluecifer, MarySlim, Hardcore Superstar, Motorhead, Bernie Torme (God), Johnny Moped, Julian Cope, Adam West, Doits, Goo Goo Dolls when they were good pre 'A Boy Named Goo', Wildhearts & related off shoots, Nomads, Turbonergo, Flaming Sideburns, Radio Birdman, Sonic's Rendezvous, MC5, Deadbeats.......The list is endless.

Television:

Drug of the nation

Books:

I usually read music biographies and the like.

Heroes:

Great TV series. One of the only things that I put the idiot box on for.

I used to hate change. My Gran used to give me and my Sister a Shilling a week pocket money and if we were lucky when she had a sixpence we'd take it in turns to have it. So when decimalisation comes ...
