I decided to take my studies overseas, expanding both my classroom experience and my mind, while volunteering and making an impact on the world for the better. I am currently working with the "Kayamandi Project," working in a local South African township, giving back to an impoverished community. Some of the things I am involved in include tutoring grade school students in English, serving as a teachers aid in a pre-primary school setting, coaching a 16-20 year-old basketball team and fixing up their unusable outdoor court, and volunteering with after-school arts-and-crafts and recreational activities. It may sound like a busy schedule, but I do have free time, which I have been spending doing things like wine sampling at the many wine farms of South Africa, chilling at the beaches, day trips through Cape Town, surfing (more on that later), grilling (Braai) with my friends, and I even climbed a little mountain the other day. I am having the time of my life and would encourage anyone to do something like this....ONE FINAL YEAR of COLLEGE (lucky number 13). I'm really looking forward to living my life as if Im dying (or something similar). I want to have no regrets at all. If my friends want to go out 7 nights a week, Im going to do it. If I see something wrong, I'm going to fix it. If something looks texturous, I'm going to feel it, and If I think I'm in love, I'm going to say it.
