About Me

I've been involved in music/recording for 30 years now... although I took a fairly lengthy hiatus from recording (I got sick of hearing cover versions of Jesse's Girl), but am now back into it with using ProTools. I've done CD's for Even To The Stars, D-Railed , nativemind , and Cuba . All of these bands exhibit great songwriting, musical talent, and love for their music. Cuba is back in the studio working on their new CD. It is going to blow people away. The writing, performing, and recording have never been better. Keep an eye/ear out for snippets they may be posting on their myspace. Good stuff indeeed. Please check these bands out! It's worth your time. I've also just finished a CD with Brent McPike - tremendous guitar player/professor at ISU, and am working with Christina Blust - amazing voice and songwriter, and the usual gang of musicians who are part of the Syndicate.
I do recording/producing at no charge to the bands because there's too much great talent out there that goes unheard as your typical working musician can't afford quality recording. The bands and musicians I choose to work with share a number of common attributes: creativity, talent, a joy for performing, and openess to suggestion, as well as just being very decent people. I do however expect that if the bands I work with get signed or makes significant money off of what we create, that a small part of it is shared with me. It's not greed, it's just that I'd like to buy more toys for the studio.I'm not interested in doing metal, country, rap or barbershop quartet music at all. This isn't a statement about the validity of those musical styles, just personal preferences. Acoustic, alternative, hard rock, jazz, classical are some of the genre's I'm interested in. I'm now looking for a new project, so if you're in the Terre Haute area, and meet the criteria above, let me know, maybe we can work together.

My Interests

If you're just trolling to get adds, don't bother, please. If you genuinely want to share music and your art, that's okay. However, if you do want me to add you, it's required that you check out the musicians on my top friends list. They deserve a listen, too. Also, for the most part, I won't add:rap hip-hop screamo/emo dj/dance/trance/mashup death metal suicide punk countryAgain, not because they're not valid musical styles, I just don't listen to that stuff.

In case you don't know, the new Cuba CD is nearing completion.  It is quite a bit different than "Sounds Like A Story", which I think was quite awesome.  This one has a harder edge, is tight...

As it should be.

When I got back into recording a few years ago, I had decided that I wasn't going to do it as a commercial effort. I simply wanted to be a part of creating very good music. If one of the artists or ...

Denny's, Jesus, and childcare (warning: offensive to Christians)

So I was thinking about the dichotomy that exists at Denny's. If you visit Denny's at 2:30 a.m., you will see the most bizarre collection of humans to be found anywhere outside of the travelling carni...
