About Me

Raised in the hills of Northern Kentucky on the banks of the Ohio River, Christina has been writing songs for as long as she can remember. The first decade or so produced nothing of merit whatsoever. (Read: many songs with rainbows and sunshine as subject matter, which does not necessarily prove a song is bad, but these were, in fact, quite bad.)Maturing through the enthusiastic frenzy of high school (in which she once wrote a song instead of a book report, and got an A) and the intellectual swirl of college (in which she again wrote a song instead of a term paper, and got an A), her style has since acquired a deeper sensibility. While a student at Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH, Christina received the prestigious "Ray of Hope" award for her performance of two original songs in the show Voices for Change*.*"Prestigious" used rather loosely in this context, to describe a small piece of a 2x4, painted black, and written on with gold glitter marker. Sparkly.Christina released Drift Me Sky, a 5-song self-produced EP, in 2004. She is currently recording a full-length cd with all new material that will be produced by Don Arney and David Goodier, featuring some stellar members of the Quantum Productions Creative Music Co-op. I do believe I’ve missed this

Life is good as of late. Saturday I got a bunch of screenprinting supplies, Sunday a choir of lovely people who happen to sing amazingly added their voices to some songs we're working on, and today I ...

Winter Magnolia

2007 was quite a year for my immediate family and me. Less than fun events, in chronological order, include: a leg snapped in half, a brain tumor, breast cancer at age 25, a truck stuck in the back ya...

i will plant you in my yard

Good gosh. I can't stop writing songs. It's causing me to get far less sleep than I should. But lord! These things in my memory bank emerge and recede and blend and morph - it's this st...

and live with divine urgency

About El Salvador: in summer of 2004 I was in this lovely little country for a bit and stayed briefly with a big family in the campo, the quite rural countryside. Alejandra and Luís Enrique were two o...

new song up: Part of Outside

Good god it's beautiful weather today! Not even remotely winter anymore. Thus, Keep on Walking (don't let the winter get your soul...) had to go. (Sorry, Travis.) I decided to replace it with a l...

oh, josh.

Saturday I saw Josh Ritter in concert, a solo acoustic show. He wore a white suit and shared the stage with a small table with the coolest old lamp I have ever seen. It was spiritual, really - he is a...

two new songs up!

So two new songs are now posted. (Hooray for Don Arney!) They are first-draft types, a bit raw and perhaps off-key in parts, but I like them. I am super-excited to see how they turn out with more...

the trees inside my walls

So I've been writing a new song, a delightful place to be! I love the time when my fingers are itchy to play and lyrics are running through my head everywhere I go. It's on the piano, w...
