Dear Adam,I listened to the CD--twice actually, since I wasn't
sure if my CD player was working properly the first
time through. :-)DISCLAIMER: I'm twice as old as you and way out of
the loop when it comes to current or "avant garde"
endeavors, so I'm not at all sure what it is that you
are attempting to create with your noise distortions.
I could easily visualize turning the time machine back
to the '60s and playing something like this for a
bunch of stoners who would be saying, "Far out, man!"The only times I've heard sounds like the ones on your
CD would be during movies/TV on the sound track.
Noises/sounds have a strong effect on how the viewer
reacts to the images seen. In this regard, I think you
may be on to something, but my guess is that you might
not be interested in commercial application of what
you do.On your second cut __0__ I have to admit I was
annoyed by the "0" part. You must believe in the
axiom "Less is more," but sometimes less is just
nothing. It made me think to rename it "Your Tinnitus
Or Mine?" since all I was listening to was the ringing
in my ears. The first one I retitled "Short-Circuited
Brain/Dance To My Static, Oh, Baby, Baby." (I'm just
joking with you!)I've always had a particularly favorite noise. The
sound of hard-soled-shoe footsteps inside a
marble-lined rotunda. I have no clue why.Anyway, thanks again for the CD. Maybe if I
understood it better, I would understand your long
patches of silence. But what do you expect of an old
fogey?Linda
