..[endif]Native Washingtonian, now Brooklyn based activist, teacher, performer and writer, ENEMY COMBATANT has performed throughout the US at universities, conferences, demonstrations, performance art centers, clubs, coffee houses and street corners.
He has opened for or appeared on releases with hip-hop artists such as Hasan Salaam, Open Thought, Akim Funk Buddha, Mental Notes, Red Clay, Mind Spray, Caridad de la Luz (La Bruja), and Doo-Wop Moderno. Most recently, Enemy Combatant caught the attention of hip-hop filmmaker Jerome Bourgeois (who has worked with artists Akon and Eric Sermon) and is starring in his urban-thriller film Horoscope shooting July 2006 in New York City.
"What Time It Really Is" was selected to appear on Movement-In-Motion's 2004 Hip-Hop compilation with Hasan Salaam, Open Thought, and Metal Notes. "Brooklyn Sold!" is currently featured in a recent NYU produced documentary about Develop Dont Destroy.
Enemy spent last summer in Washington, D.C. performing at the 4th Annual Hip-Hop Theater Festival events and collaborating with local theatre and film artists. In January 2006, he was featured in Youth Communications' hip-hop adaptation of They Called Me Crack Baby at Symphony Space, NYC featuring DJ Moni of Ubiquita, Charles Everett and Tiffany Jewel.
As Mauricio Alexander, he continues to work as an AEA/SAG theatre, commercial, voice-over and film talent as well as an after-school teaching artist in NYC Public Schools.
