Chelsea Gregory is an artist, activist and educator who works through the media of theater, poetry and dance. She recently completed a national tour with We Got Issues! (see www.wegotissues.org- see feature on site video and soundtrack), and she is currently developing The 6 Project, a performance project that explores how race and cultural identity shape our point of view. Her work is published in several anthologies including "We Got Issues! A Young Woman's Guide to a Bold, Empowered and Courageous Life", Steve Cannon's "Gathering of the Tribes," and "The Charis Review." She has performed at venues including The Culture Project "Women Center Stage," The Hip-Hop Theater Festival, The Bioneers Conference, The US Social Forum and Chuck D’s “On the Real Radio.†She has shared the stage with performers such as KRS 1, Rha Goddess, Rebel Diaz and Kelly Tsai, and collaborated with the Urban Bush Women Institute on a piece exploring race in the context of Hurricane Katrina. As an educator she has consulted with organizations such as Code Pink, Make the Road NY, The School at Columbia University and Voices UnBroken, facilitating workshops on arts in education, cultural activism, and diversity awareness.
