I was born in Glasgow and loved rock and roll music since I was a kid.... No one in my family influenced me in my love of R'n'R , my big sis was a Skin Byrd and that was how I also came to like the early reggae & ska and there were no rockin' clubs when I was a teen in Glasgow so I went with the ska, reggae & skinhead scene.....My big sis was a trainee hairdresser and she offered to cut my hair one day and to my horror gave me a skinbyrd cut!!!! that haircut did not go down well in school! ............................. In the late 70's I heard that a guy called Rollin' Joe had started a rock 'n' roll club in Glasgow (RJ at the time also had a band going called "Rolling Joe & the Jets" and they are still going strong today!) A couple of years later on the other side of town, a guy called Ricky Carlin introduced me to Rockabilly, This club was held on the premises of the 'Black Watch' working mens club, I remember the premises were in a 'run down' Glasgow tenement, great club though.
