About Me

The Ukulele Gangstas r a Deal, kent based rap/funk/punky Quartet consisting of the odd and disturbingly idiosyncratic blend of Uke, voice, bass n' drums (and also a little touch of kazoo, stylofone and a gui-board). We play strictly r own choons and capture working class living in all it's strugglin' glory.Born last october (2007) our gangsta tribe have plagued London with performances everywhere from the grime of Camden's Barfly to the Calvin Klein guff of Chinawhite nightclub. We have supported Alabama 3 at their request, and have played Club NME for the national music weekly. We have been played on London's XFM radio on the John Kennedy show, and have appeared in The Daily Mirror, NME and Timeout magazine. We have played Brighton several times and naturally we have performed in Kent on an avalanche of occasions.

"The Ukulele Gangstas are a bright addition to the planet's entertainment. Glam bling hippy space cadets with a fine array of highly entertaining scuffle-pop songs, they are very new, but already the stuff that cults are made of." God Is In The TV Fanzine

"We loved their bonkers ska-meets-Slade-meets-The Wurzels image and the floor filling, knees-up tunes!" Offline Club
