MIDORI (pronounced like a drink "MIDORI sour") professionally started her career as a singer/songwriter when she moved to Tokyo Japan in December 2006. Her happy uplifting style of pop sound came from the influences of Avril Lavigne and Cocco (Japanese artist).
MIDORI has an experience of playing classical piano for 13 years starting from her age of 4 and she won several awards playing at the piano contests. MIDORI then started singing when she was 6 years old in a choir at the church her mother's friend goes. First, she wasn't that interested in singing because she wasn't confident about singing. With her never-give-up attitude, she start practicing singing by herself and after a certain point, she starts loving singing songs. Later on, she started to go to the vocal training school to learn vocal professionally.
MIDORI was in a musical Annie as a dancer when she was 11 years old in Columbus Ohio. She kept the relationship with music by playing classical piano and practicing singing. At the age of 16 she started writing songs and singing in various bands.
Since she moved to Tokyo, she has performed at various venues while she was in college. After she graduated from college, she decided to go to Musicians Institute in Hollywood to train more of her vocal. MIDORI threw a release show for her first album "MY FIRST STORY" on March 13th of 2007 and the album is almost sold out.
While she was in Hollywood, she performed at The Cat Club with a band. Now MIDORI is back in Japan having several gigs in Tokyo planning to go back to LA soon to have more shows in LA.
