In February of 2000, Women of Colour was founded by Terri Carter from Paterson, NJ. Like most women she desired to sit down with a group of women and discuss and exchange her views of different novels with other friends and family. With a blend of diverse women whom are a pleasure to meet with. We meet the last Sunday of each month to review different novels, special events and fundraisers. Our books are selected as a group, we alternate meeting at each members home. Our books are purchased at our local book store, For those of you who are interested in sending me your book to be reviewed for the chosen book of the month send me a e-mail or message for further information. Our doors are always open for new members. Please feel free to e-mail us @[email protected] or join myspace.com/wocbookclubMy Passion and focus right now is to become an icon to my youth in my community and raise funds to give away scholarships to those students that have dreams and want to make it happen.I would love to eventually open a center in the community that would allow the students to come in and act out their talents to the community and that would pretty much start them building their resumes in their talents for fashion/entertaiment as well as business. With this passion I have, God's willing I think I can make it happen... Right now Women of Colour presents yearly our High School Fashion show with some of the best designers in the NJ area's which allows us to give away right now small scholarship funds, as well as our Annual Mother's Day Breakfast... A Book Club is like a revolving door people come and go but as long as I'm blessed to be on this earth with a smile on my face that's God gift to me, I will continue to reach out to my community and support the best way that I know how and that's my way of giving to my community.Love,Peace and Hair Grease,Princess
