The following may come off as pompous or self-indulgent. It isn't meant as such:I call myself a cynical optimist. I often feel jaded by life and my job and everything that is so wrong with the world but in turn, I also genuinely believe in people's capacity for good and that gives me hope. Thus: cynical optimist.True passion turns is what inspires me as trite as that may sound.I like rain when it's sunny. And music that makes me move involuntarily. I like people who can intoxicate me without alcohol. I like talking philosophically about things that don't matter. I like dreams where I can fly. But I don't like flying. I like people who know me right away before I can get shy. I like to look in the mirror until my face becomes new again. I like that rush of meeting someone new. I like the adrenaline rush after being afraid. I like twice roasted marshmallows. I like to clash. I like the clash. I like soap that smells like oranges. I like that spot between a person's neck and shoulder where I can rest my weary head. I like hands in my hair. I like hair in my hands. I like words that make me cry and words that make me laugh. I like hugs. I like talking until morning. I like finishing a friend's sentence and vice versa. I like paint on my skin. I like isolated tears. I like feeling original even when I'm not. I like comfortable silences. I like dark eyeliner in the daytime. I like rollercoasters. I like falling as long as something will catch me. I like that place between sleep and awake. I like being naked, inside and out. I like not knowing whose hands are whose. I like seeing 80 year olds in love. I like finding the familiar in a new face. I like to be lost in someone's skin. I like finding submarines in the clouds. I like to twirl until the world spins. I like synchronized heartbeats. I like losing time. I like kissing with my eyes open. I like watching a sleeping cat. I like a hand at the small of my back. I like whispering naughty things in public. I like having a secret. I like being a secret. I like gaining trust and giving it in return. I like finding the perfect present. I like Christmas morning in the cold but I don't like winter. I like postcoital giddiness. I like the blush of new romance. I like being enough and not getting in my own way. I like to be a contradiction. I like being the villain and the heroine. I like to be sweet in the light and dirty in the dark. Reilly (the four best character actors that exist) I could keep going but I would never stop

Currently reading (finally) In Cold Blood (actually listening to it on DVD during my commute to work), Also currently rereading a bunch of the books I read when I was twelve thanks to my roommate's Young Adult fiction collection (revisiting childhood is fun) My Ishmael (seriously, this book will change your life) I like Fitzgerald. The Lovely Bones. I really like the author Tracy Chevalier and have read all her books but most people don't know her. I love Harry Potter too and I don't care what you say! Trying to get around to reading some of the classics so I am currently on Dracula.

Heroes:

It's trite but anyone who shows true passion for something regardless of what that might be (ok, maybe not someone who is passionate about murder but, ya know)
