Legends of the South first formed under the name "Texas Blood Rock" in late 2003. The early lineup featured Ben Whitt on guitar, some fag on bass who will remain nameless (yeah we're talking about you Shawn), Jeremy Hidalgo on drums, and John Storm on vocals. The quartet wrote a few of the early Legends tunes but disbanded due to scheduling conflicts. The band reformed in late 2004. Early 2005 saw Shawn departing and Quinn Peacock joining to beef up the guitar sound. The lineup solidified with the re-entrance of Jeremy Hidalgo, this time on the other half of the rhythm section, along with Jerod Evans on the drums.Legends of the South are dedicated to preserving the spirit of the South in their original blend of blues, stoner rock, and old school metal. They "call to mind a metaphoric lovechild of Led Zeppelin and Pantera" (Anthony Mariani, Ft. Worth Weekly), in a sound described by the members as "white trash stoner thrash."
While Legends of the South have been relatively silent through 2006(even though recieving a nomination for Best Hard Rock Band in Ft. Worth), they plan to charge into the new year with guns blazing, bringing their original brand of music to the masses with new tunes and the ferocious stage show and musicianship that have become their trademarks.ModMySpace Profile Customizer
