About Me

"I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or Numbered. My life is my own."
- Number 6.
I am shy, but spirited I am antisocial, but amiable I am a Nerd I love to travel - check out my Travel Photos (updated 02/21/07) I don't watch television, with a very few exceptions of TV on DVD I am a writer, at least that's what I keep telling myself I love to read, but don't do it as often as I'd like I collect 19th & early 20th century reference books I play the Bass, and monkey around with the guitar and mandolin I am gainfully employed I don't really like computers much, but it's a living I am a solipsist but you probably are too I don't really like the heat, anything over 65 makes me cranky I can be abrasively sarcastic I cuss like a salior I have a not so mild-mannered alter ego named Ted Killgore I can be a bit of a spelling/grammar Nazi, but I can't type very well I love to cook I am a self-proclaimed gourmet and epicurean (I'm modest too?) I am learning to read and speak Welsh, but I don't really know why I am a California native by birth, but a Yorkshireman by ancestry I like logic puzzles and brain teasers, but they give me headaches I love long nights and cold winters I love art, but can't paint or draw I suffer from Cassandra Syndrome I am an Autodidact I am the kid you picked on in school I know my sun and moon signs, but wish I didn't I was born on Christmas Day, and it sucks I have a new blog at Dead Roads
I also like to think of myself as, what William S. Burroughs called, a Johnson.
"A Johnson honors his obligations. His word is good and he is a good man to do business with. A Johnson minds his own business. He is not a snoopy, self-righteous, trouble-making person. A Johnson will give help when help is needed. He will not stand by while someone is drowning or trapped under a burning car." -William S. Burroughs, The Place of Dead Roads.

I'd like to meet:

The jaded, the creative, the gypsy, the hedonistic, the unique, the misunderstood, the sarcastic, the pariah, the intelligent, the misanthropic, the self-indulgent, the insubordinate, the contrary, the nihilistic, the apathetic, and the marginalized.
I'd also like to meet Desi The Three-Armed Wonder Comic, a person who knows what the antonym of misogyny is (without looking it up), a couple of random people that I'm strangely obsessed with, someone who can "correctly" answer the question: What do you get if you multiply six by nine?, and anyone who, for some strange reason, thinks this profile is interesting.

Quicksilver Dreams

The cacophony from the bar had become endlessly more intolerable. The persistence of drunken voices seemed determined to drown each other out; nothing ever changes. Far away from here foot steps could...
