About Me

Change is an inevitability. For some, it is a swift break from the grinding banality of routine, for others, it means driving across Texas, sleeping in parking lots, and borrowing beer money from Telegraph Avenue transients. This is where the Crash Engine comes in. Combining the influence of 90's heavy pop with drum solos, red wine, and high energy live performances, the Crash Engine is an oasis of raw rock n' roll in a desert of interchangeable synth pop. Hailing out of the perma-soaked indie haven of Portland Oregon, the trio's sound encapsulates the excitement and enigma of change in a new album that is about just that. "Extravagaria" takes its title from poet Pablo Neruda's ode to uncertainty and the beauty of life and loss. Ranging from explosive anthems to smokey acoustic ear candy, their music has a depth both mysterious and enduring. .. mspobj type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
