Anthony Smith is a Melbourne born music freak who only started making music after his move to sunny Brisbane, Australia in 2002 ( must be the air or something).
Since the move north he's been slowly but steadily creating a series of tracks spanning genre from trip hop, drum and bass, darkwave , micro house, ambient , illbient, breakcore, raggacore, f0nTcOrE and just plain electronica.
His sound has been described as an innovative mix of relentless beats and distortion. Others describe the sound as living downstairs from a very loud jungle DJ. He's mellowed a bit over the years ( from working with his partner in crime Heidi on their side project ) and now creates dark, errie tracks.
From creating his own tracks ++hAzy has also been involved in remixing artists like Houston Bernard, The Sounds Of DirT, GltchBtch and others.
Hoping to release a independent CD later this year, either an EP or full album depending on how many tracks he has and how much money he can get together ;) indie labels are welcome to show intrest..
Influences stem from growing up listening to bands like Cabaret Voltaire, Skinny Puppy and Nine Inch Nail, mixed in with current favourites like Bjork, Tricky, Gerling, Kate Bush and Aphex Twin and Squarepusher. Current cds purchased include cLOUDDEAD, Monster Zoku Onsomb, Black Lung, Covenant, Telepopmusik and Telefon Tel Aviv.
His setup currently has evolved to only hardware which includes a yamaha RS7000 ( fucken amazing!! ), Korg electribe ES-1, Roland Ef-303 and an Alesis Air Effects. Other bits include a Mac TI powerbook running 10.3.2, Nanoloop2 on his DS, circuit bent Roland 505 and a bend Ibanez thrasmetal pedal, various instruments from Zithers to Theremones and kids toys, and 3 rat's called Gerbil, Dippity and Tumeric
