Sarah was born and raised in Australia but moved to NYC at 17, to pursue a career as an entertainer.
After scoring her first US gig as the "Lead singer" on the " 100th Anniversary Harley Davidson Open Road Tour" in 2001, Sarah travelled throughout the US, Australia and Japan alongside such headliners as Kid Rock, Hootie and the Blowfish, Aerosmith, Tim McGraw, Lynard Skynard and Bob Dylan.
She then made her BROADWAY debut as a Singer/Dancer in the musical "42nd Street" at age 20. After performing on the great white way, Sarah moved to Las Vegas to perform in the Original US company of the Queen smash musical " We Will Rock You" where she understudied the lead role of 'Killer Queen'.
Working directly with Brian May and Roger Taylor (Queen) and Director Ben Elton, Sarah won rave reviews when she stepped into cover the lead role after only weeks of rehearsal.
On the night WWRY opened in Las Vegas, Brian personally invited Sarah and selected cast members, to sing live on stage with him and a bevy of rock and roll legends at the after party gala.
Performing on stage were not only Brian May and Roger Taylor but Steve Vai, Steve Lukather, Meatloaf, Glenn Hughes and Chad Smith (from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers) For a girl from Bundaberg in Queensland, this was a dream come true!
Planting her feet in both the theatre and music industry, Sarah relocated back to NY and recorded her demo of 3 original pop/rock songs with producer Anthony Santonocito in 2005. ( listen to them here...)
As quickly as the demo was finished, Sarah was offered the role of lead singer in the all girl Led Zeppelin tribute, LEZ ZEPPELIN. (http://www.lezzeppelin.com) The past year has been a roller coaster of sold out shows, cross country tours and rave reviews, including making appearances in Rolling Stone, Time Out New York & Chicago, Entertainment Weekly, The London Times, BBC.UK, CNN.com, The Sydney Morning Herald, AOL.com, Relix Magazine, The Boston Globe, Seven News Australia and The New Yorker.
While 2007 will be fondly remembered as a whirlwind of stagehands, beer bottles, guitar strings; a tornado of hotel room keys, the hypnotic blur of white stripes on the road, and neverending bags of corn chips, Chex Mix and processed cheese, 2008 is having a happy start here in New York City, as we take a moment to relearn the subway map and have a strong cup of coffee or two.
However...we start up again at the end of February with a short midwestern jaunt: Pittsburgh, Detroit, Ohio...and ramble on from there to some of our favorite haunts -- the ski towns of Colorado, Boston, Washington D.C. and of course, New York City, where we'll play a long awaited homecoming gig at theFillmore at Irving Plaza on March 29th.
We also intend to launch the year with a brand new website, which will feature new merch, audio, video, special downloads, blogs, news from the road and generally enable us to avoid all future forms of Communication Breakdown. In addition, we have some very special gigs coming up that will take the band -- and the music -- to a whole new place. Stay tuned for those posts, forthcoming...!
