On April 26, 1990, R&B was born back into the world. Karim Diane, now 17 years old, was born in Washington, DC. He was raised in Potomac, MD, a small, town right outside of DC. Growing up, Karim never took interest in any sports. Despite his fathers pressure, he remained artistically occupied. His father, an ex-professional soccer player, and his two brothers, one a college soccer star and the other a high school basketball star, all pressured him to play sports, but he never took up interest.Ever since hearing Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" at the age of 5, Karim fell in love with music and music fell in love with him. Although
impressing his family members with his ability to sing the song, he would drive them crazy by never ceasing. He enrolled in chorus class every year beginning in lower school. He quickly became known as the best singer of his class. He would play lead roles in many school musicals such as "Oklahoma" and "Annie".
It was when Karim's father bought him a computer program allowing him to make beats and record his own voice that Karim began making original music around the age of 13. After visiting Africa at the age of 14, he made a CD of his own original music and sold it with proceeds towards the children of Africa.Karim Diane, also known as Kay, is now working hard at making a more mature sound in his music along side his brother, Ibrahim Diane, an aspiring producer, and James Daniels of JBoy Productions. His singing can be heard on YouTube, http://www.youtube.com/KayDiddy35.
