LADY ICE better known as THE DEVIL's REJECT

About Me

While growing up in a middle class secluded area in Silverlake, California ...... I grew up around a lot of music. I started singing and dancing at the age of 4. My older siblings had a thing for tapes, so I would always take them and listen to them from back to back on my Barbie walkman. I started singing in the choir at the age of 7. Singing in the choir really strengthened my voice and taught me how to harmonize. Between the ages of 8 and 9, I fell in love with Hip Hop music. I knew almost every Tupac lyric. Even the bad words. I used to sit in the back seat of my moms car and rap my little heart out. She never really liked Hip Hop, so she used to put on Jazz music to get me to stop listening to rap. It never worked, but it broadened my mind musically. I began to like Jazz music also. When I entered 5th grade at Marlton Elementary School in Baldwin Hills, my teacher had gave the class an assignment to form a group of 4 people and to write a song and perform it in front of the class. I was always a good writer, so I took it upon myself to write the song. I gathered up 3 of my friends, taught them the song, wrote it to Dru Hill's instrumental "whatever you want" and got my sister to choreograph the dance moves. On the day of our performance, we did so well, we got an A+. The whole class stood up and gave us a standing ovation. I was so proud of myself and also of my fellow classmates. When I entered Audubon Middle School in the Crenshaw District, I started getting involved in different activities at school. I let all the kids there know that I could sing. I had performed in various plays and talent shows there also. I started rapping at the age of 12. My family didn't really know I could rap. It was like my lil secret. Rapping really got serious for me around the age of 14. I had become a student at Dorsey High School in Los angeles. We used to have this lil area on campus called "The Studio". The homies used to bang on the gym door and make drum beats. Everybody would huttle around and battle each other. I was so Hyphy and amped, I would just jump up in dudes faces and let them know that just because I'm a prittsy girl didn't mean that I didn't have skills on the freestyle tip. I was becoming so known, the guys respected me and accepted me. I came up wit the name Lady Ice because my rhymes and punch lines would give people the chills. While still attending high school, I was discovered by Donald Pierce and Steve Harris of Exquisite Entertainment. They had so much faith in me, so they signed me to their production company. I began recording at various studios throughout Los Angeles and the Inland Empire. They put together my demo and put money up for my music video. It was played on Comcast cable on some westcoast station. They also got me on a highschool tour. I performed at Dorsey High, Gardena High, Washington High, Leuzinger High, Jordan High and other schools too. At the age of 16, I would always listen to the radio station Power 106. Dj Felly Fell began airing a radio show called "The Road Call". Rappers would call and battle each other over the phone on the radio station. I was confident enough to call. The line was always busy. One day I finally got through. They had me on hold for like 40 minutes. Then finally it was time for the official battle. I had all the homies tunning in that night. I was second to go up. I had won the battle and was asked to come up to the station to battle the champion. I got up there and held my shit down. The judging was based on how many phone calls came in, and my competetor was from Burbank, where the station is also located. He got more calls then me, so he won. Everybody at the station said I won hands down, but the competition was based on the phone calls. I still didn't give up. I kept rapping and been successful at it ever since. Meanwhile ...... I was still signed to Exquisite Entertainment. They weren't shopping my music right and the promotion wasn't up to par either. I began to get discouraged, so I put music to the side for a while. I then graduated from highschool, got accepted to 4 different Universities, went off to college at Cal State University of San Bernardino and totally stopped persuing my music career. School was my main priority, until I met Yukmouth. I was at the Beverly Center one day, saw him walking by and recognized who he was. I said what's up to him and told him I could sing and rap and that I was interested in working with him. We exchanged numbers, I came to the studio and freestyled for him that same day. He was shocked and excited at the same time. We became so cool and always found something to laugh about. I began coming to the studio more often and he saw how determined I was. He then asked me if I wanted to be apart of the Regime. I said yes, and now the sky is the limit. But now things' have changed a little bit. WELL ..... I'M MORE FOCUSED ON SCHOOL, SO AS FAR AS MUSIC .... I'M TAKING A BREAK. I'M NOT INTO IT LIKE I USED TO BE.I'M TRYING TO GET MY DEGREE. FUCK BEING A PUPPET ASS ARTIST!!!
