SPHERE LAZZA... Returns from the Abyss!

About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
Welcome the official Website for the electronic band SPHERE LAZZA. They began in 1992 as an original Techno-Industrial project for music programmer Tony Spaz. He collaborated with a couple of lyricist/vocalists on a few demos before finding the proper chemistry with the lineup. Influenced by FRONT 242 and FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY, the duo released several demos in 1993 and appeared on numerous Electro-Industrial compilation CDs.
By the beginning of 1994, the band had made a major impact in the Techno-Industrial underground, having widespread international radio and club play, ultimately attracting the attention of some significant record labels. SPHERE LAZZA's first full-length release, Incinerate (1994), was originally on the Arts Industria label, but was then picked up by Fifth-Column Records, which proved to be a tremendous success.
Afterward, SPHERE LAZZA expanded into a quartet, featuring ALX on guitar and J "Freak-a" Smith on drums. The band soon signed with Hard/Cleopatra Records, and released the electro-pop album Enemy Within (1995). The band received much international recognition from radio programs and magazines such as Alternative Press, HUH! and Axcess Magazine. The group was featured in numerous compilations from Hard Records, Cleopatra and Arts Industria. Sphere Lazza ultimately headlined the Circuitfest music festival in Indianapolis, which featured the performance debut of Assemblage 23.
Finally, while recording their third album, Paradigm Shift, (1996 - unreleased), SPHERE LAZZA began to struggle, due to lack of compensation and support by their label, their concert promoter, as well as an untimely theft of the majority of their music equipment. At this juncture, the group took time off from the project.
Five years later, Tony Spaz began writing/recording and remixing again. Rumors quickly spread that SPHERE LAZZA was reuniting, creating a huge buzz about the band due to interest from many long-time fans. After learning that a Techno-Industrial DJ created a "What Happened to this Band?" mix, Tony Spaz reunited with [dt] to record a limited-edition studio album. However, Tony Spaz made the decision to scale the band back to its original EBM roots. In 2005, SPHERE LAZZA released the limited-edition, CD maxi-single entitled 'Ultimate Abyss' through Acidvictim Records, an indie record label. The release received some rave reviews from magazines such as Virus! Magazine and Side-Line. However, AcidVictim Records eventually closed its doors and SPHERE LAZZA decided to form their own label. SPHERE LAZZA and its label (TBA) is currently seeking distribution.
SPHERE LAZZA has another earth shattering released that can be expected in the fall of 2008. Tony Spaz and [dt] are poised to strike again. Stay tuned...
