Jamie Osborne

Hi, my name is Jamie Osborne. I am a singer/songwriter from Sheffield, UK, but I grew up in Rotherham, UK. I started out as a Computer Engineer going through college and then a few jobs. I was fed up with being in the wrong place at the wrong time so I jumped ship so I could dedicate part of my life to my songwriting and I love it. I'm now married with 2 kids, one girl and one boy. My wife and kids are my greatest supporters. My wife is always the first to listen to any new songs of mine and she tells me what she thinks with the brutal truth, which I think is what makes us all better!!!. I have been writing songs since 1994 and actually did a demo of the first song I ever wrote with my music teacher from school, the song was called "Hold On". It wasn't very good if I'm honest, but hey we all gotta start somewhere. Back then all I did was write lyrics, I couldn't play any instruments, however, there was always a melody in my head but I had no output/means of recording them. I'd always fancied playing piano but never had the time really until about 2 years ago. In the end I had approximately 400 sets of lyrics just sitting there doing nothing!. So eventually after getting the money together I bought a Portable Grand and a Digital Recorder and set up a mini studio, which was in Nov 2006. Then my first CD was completed in Oct 2007 and has been rotated on here as a taster of what's to come. Considering I only started it in Nov 2006 I think it's pretty good going. I did have 19 songs for the CD but obviously that's too many so I narrowed it down to 14. I'm still learning to use my equipment to the best of it's ability and I think I'm coming out with some really good stuff at the moment and hopefully the new songs will be on here soon for you all to listen to.I have a lot of goals I want to accomplish in the next 20 years or so. I wish to go to Nashville, Tennesee and create some hits for people like Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Reba McEntire & Kenny Rogers to name but a few. I wouldn't mind trying to do a few gigs but maybe in a few years. A couple of awards wouldn't go a miss either, lol!!!. Also I'd love to work with Daryl Hall, he is my ultimate inspiration and the man can sing anything, I just love his voice. Genius!!!. Gary Barlow is another person who I'd love to work with, he is the reason I wanted to play piano. But anyway, thats it for now. I will work with anyone once and see how it goes, after that who knows - because if it works, it works. If it doesn't - you know it doesn't!!
