To his mother DeLonda's amazement, this Milwaukee born young man began singing at the tender age of 2 and hasn't stopped yet. He began singing harmony and excepting singing engagements at the age of 5. He began singing at birthday parties, weddings, and all types of church events.
Don't mistake him for being incapable because of his age and size, he will surely invoke the presence of God during song. Donovan has also sang professionally, he auditioned and was casted with Modjeska Youth Theatre for the broadway musical " Suessical the Musical" where he portrayed 4 different characters that included singing, acting and dancing. Donovan was also chosen to sing with a Milwaukee based youth choir "Youth With a Vision", in which the ages are 16-24 but he definitely held his own.In 2005, Donovan became the Youth Praise & Worship Leader at Prayer Tower of Faith Ministries. At the age of 10, He gave a tearful rendition of Smokie Norful's "God Is Able" and that song is highly in demand.January 2006, he was the sermonic soloist for Pastor DeAndre Patterson in Chicago, Illinois.July 2006, he was the sermonic soloist for Grace International Fellowship Conference under the Leadership of Bishop RJ Burt. Also in 2006, he sanged at the Full Gospel Baptist Convention held in Milwaukee,Wisconsin under the leadership of Bishop W. Strong. In August 2006, Donovan sanged for Perfecting Conference under the leadership of Bishop Darrell Hines, he became the first child to ever perform on Trinity Broadcasting Network in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he shared the stage with gospel Heavyweights, Pastor Marvin L. Winans, Dorinda CLark-Cole, and Pastor Gary Oliver.Pastor Marvin L. Winans invited Donovan to be his special musical guest at his annual Youth Rally weekend at Perfecting Church in Detroit, Michigan. TBN, still moved by his ability, then decided to invite him to be the first child that performs for a live audience in Atlanta, Georgia in October 2006. They centered the 1st televised show for children entitled " Exceptional Children in Ministry" that aired in 80 countries and 46 satelittes across the world.Donovan was the opening musical artist for JMoss and 21:03 in October 2006. In April 2007, Donovan sang at the annual Ressurection Sunday for Christian Faith Fellowship Church under the leadership of Bishop Darrell Hines here in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he set the stage for gospel greats, Kirk Franklin and Yolanda Adams.September 2007, Donovan got the chance to have his dream come true, he was the guest soloist at Pastor Smokie Norful 2 year church Anniversary, in which he had the chance to perform his favorite song "God Is Able" to his mentor. Donovan moved Pastor Norful so much he could barely sit in his seat!At the age of 11, God has been faithful! He is a product of prayer and prophecy coming forth. His mother, DeLonda also a singer currently works as his manager and she is committed to making sure he acknowledges God in all that he does. Her vision for him is to not worry about the secular world and all it has to offer but to reach them through ministry in song, although she knows he's young she tells him "to much is given, much is required". Currently, Donovan has been casted in the upcoming gospel movie "Forget me Not". In addition to that he is also featured on the song "Whole Nation" on Kirk Franklin's upcoming project.
