Self development, anything leading to pleasure (with no side effects), chess (check out freechess.org and schemingmind.com, I play on FICS as TigreTonio, SM as Manifestor), biking, laughter, enjoying life, the sun, the rain, mutually satisfying sex, water on a hot day, contented exhaustion, the Internet, digital photography, making money, spending money, swimming, being happy, releasing pent up energy productively, computer game design, music and writing
Fun people. Intelligent folks. People who aren't afraid to admit they give a fu(k.I like being active. I like walking, reading, hiking, traveling, conversation, games (chess, card games, bowling), biking, rhythm, movement, swimming, learning. I like entertaining people, I like variety.I'm interested in "sustainable living", in other words surviving if/when society collaspes. Living off the land, being able to survive without all the bells and whistles most people take for granted.I want to meet down to earth people with big dreams, who have self-respect, humour and are more interested in having fun and getting things done than being attached to ideals and issues.I like excersise, preferably in fresh air, I'd rather do it with someone else (highly motavated) than by myself.I like my own company and enjoy my own space but no man is an island. I don't need people but I do want people. I aspire to keep it real in all my relationships.
I like what I like. I'm not biased towards a specific genre. Most modern music is noise pollution to my ears though. My favorite album is Blood Sugar Sex Magik (Red Hot Chilli Peppers, 1991). I like classical music (fav : Bethoven's Moonlight Sonata), I am more into piano usually than violin. I like some electronic music. I like some hip-hop (though 90% is garbage in my eyes). I like Nirvana, some old Metallica. I like Indian and Middle Eastern music. Basically anything with a good beat. Many songs are ruined as soon as the singer opens their mouth, that's why I like alot of classical and elctronic. Of course live music is the best. I like music that makes me want to move, I like music that wakes me up to myself and snaps me out of a dull state of mind. I like Evanescene, they are good live. I love watching that chick (Amy Lee) jump around, she is very passionate.
My two favorites : Night at The Opera (Marx Brothers) and The Seven Samurai.Last movie I saw in the theater : Troy, it wasn't half bad. In fact it's the only movie over two hours I've seen where I wasn't thinking at all about the time.Last movie I got from the library : The Gods Must Be Crazy, cute funny lil' movieRun Lola Run was well done. Dersu Uzala is another good foreign film! Of Mice and Men (with Gary Sinise, John Malkovich) was well done. Another good movie from a book : One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest. My Cousin Vinny was amusing. As Good as It Gets, The Whole Nine Yards, The Professional, Death of a Salesman, the original Time Machine movie, Manchurian Candidate.
Don't watch televison. When I was a kid I used to like The Simpsons and Married With Children.
Siddhartha : Hermann Hesse, The Power of One : Bryce Courteney, The Fountainhead : Ayn Rand, Beyond Civilization & the Ishmael series : Daniel Quinn, The Duplicate : William Sleator, The Alchemist : Paulo Coelho (read this on the job when I worked at a restaurant), The Long Walk by Stephen King. I read alot. I'd rather be out living life but when I'm not & I'm by myself, reading is one of the healthist escapes I know.
haha. How about you? Want to be my hero? I haven't found any in the media, the news, the movies, in sports, in my parents, teachers or peers. Not that I've been looking, I'm not big into hero worship. Certain people have attributes I admire but no one has it all. So I "absorb what is useful, discard what is not, add what is uniquely my own." (that quote is attributed to Bruce Lee).
