Mechanism is an Artist from Melbourne, Australia and has been producing since 2000 and has cruised in and out of various styles untill he discovered.... PSY!
With a background of many different musical styles, Mechanism (Chris Asher) has been able to adopt his own tastes into his music, enableing it to sound like its own. Chris started off playing guitar at the age of 11, and continues to do so today and will be looking at incorporating it into his (1 man) act in the near future.
Chris describes "Mechanism's" music to be: Melodic, Funky and fun, while at the same time being like his project name states, Mechanical and still remaining psychedelic.
History
Mechanism has been making a name for himself as a Psytrance Artist since 2005 playing DJ sets at the early stages of his production process to try out his new style and tracks for smaller audiences around Melbourne. Preparing his Live act, Chris started a small crew Awkward Influence who started putting on parties around Melbourne in late 2005 - early 2006. This is where Mechanism made his live Debut.
In March of 2006 Mechanism Played and headlined his first International gig on the sands of Oahu - Hawaii, and again later that week in Honolulu's Bliss Cafe/Bar/club for "Psyclops". In April 2006 he Played In Mexico city at an Unoffical Awkward Influence Party alongside fellow A.I. Artists Renier and Jiony. Also in Mexico city, he played a special 1 hour "in-store" set at Maia Music Shop - Owned by trance label "Maia Records".
Since arriving back home in may 2006, Mechanism has started to develop a following having played for most of Melbournes Psy Crews, with next gigs allways just around the corner, you can expect to hear alot more from him.
