Daytime Emmy nominated actress, Stephanie Lucile Gatschet (formerly Tammy Winslow Randall of the daytime serial, “The Guiding Lightâ€), is a dynamic and multi-talented artist, whose subtle performances have garnered her both fan and critical praise. As a child, she took ballet and piano, honing her performance skills through those mediums. These experiences segued into acting, where, by the age of nine, she was appearing in area plays, including one entitled, “Hazlewood Jr. High†also starring a then unknown actress, Chloe Sevigny. Soon thereafter, Stephanie moved to New York, where she appeared in several off-Broadway shows. In 2002, Stephanie landed a small role in “Roger Dodger,†starring critically-acclaimed actor, Campbell Scott. That same year, she also guest-starred on “Law & Order†in an episode entitled, “Girl Most Likely.†In the 2003 independent film release, “Virgin,†Stephanie played “Katie Reynolds†opposite Golden Globe-nominated actress, Robin Wright Penn, who played her mother.
By 2002, she had booked a recurring role on “The Guiding Light,†playing “Tammy Winslowâ€, which eventually parlayed into a contract role. She was at “The Guiding Light†from 2002-2007. As Tammy Winslow Randall, Stephanie comprised one-half of the immensely popular pairing, Tammy and Jonathan (Tom Pelphrey). Though controversial (the characters were half-cousins), the chemistry between the two characters was undeniable. Within a year, Tammy and Jonathan became one of the most popular couples on “The Guiding Light.†Stephanie Gatschet’s “Tammy†brought humanity to the often coarse and larger-than-life character of “Jonathan,†thus making the couple more appealing to a broader audience. In 2007, though “Tammy Winslow Randall†had left the canvas through a much-disputed and still controversial death, Stephanie Gatschet was honored with her first Daytime Emmy Nomination.
Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Stephanie Gatschet now resides in the New York Area with her two cats, Fiyero and May and her rescued dog, ChiChi. A staunch animal advocate, Stephanie is a member of the Humane Society and supports the charity, Animal Haven, http://www.animalhavenshelter.org/ .
