He was born Justin Brett Klosky on May 14, 1980 in Miami, Florida. There he started performing at the very early age of 5, when he came in 2nd place in his Elementary School talent show as a Kindergartner. Raised in a suburb of Miami, Coral Springs, Klosky always loved singing, carrying around his Fisher Price tape player with connecting microphone chanting Neil Diamond’s: “The Jazz Singer†album any chance he could. Klosky’s love for being on stage and singing led him to start professional theatre at an early age working opposite of great names like Cathy Rigby, Davy Jones, Jan McArt, Lauren Bacall and most recently Garry Marshall, while maintaining a normal childhood with his friends outside of his hobby at the time.
Klosky’s big break was when he made his television debut on Guiding Light as Joey Lupo, the star high school baseball player on July 1, 2003 as a guest star. After coming back and forth and guest starring as his own original character, he earned a 3 year contract and a spot on Daytime Television. Playing on the show from 2002-2005, Klosky was acknowledged with a Daytime Emmy, Pre-Nomination for Outstanding Younger Actor in 2004 and was just recently brought back to the cast of Guiding Light after a leave of a year to spice up the younger generations story line.
During his schooling at NYU and his work on The Guiding Light, Klosky was always learning all edges of the business. His love for the theatre and music always remained his passion despite his TV work and he was always singing and performing during his work on Guiding Light. He kept his passion for music alive every weekend starring in an Off-Broadway show called The Karaoke Show which was a comedy that melded classic characters from Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors with present-day karaoke culture. He just recently finished working with Garry Marshall on Happy Days: The Musical where he played Potsie Webber, an off the path role that Marshall was excited for Klosky to play despite his interest in him for The Fonz and completed a guest staring role on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit where he played killer Ryan Bedford.
Before his debut on Guiding Light and still studying at New York University’s Tish School of the Arts where he completed a BFA in Drama and a BS in Computer Applications, Klosky also was employed at Innovative Artists Talent and Literary Agency where he moved from intern to Executive Assistant to the President and Office Manager by the age of 21. After his 5 years of employment at Innovative Artists, Klosky then started working full-time on The Guiding Light where he worked until his move to Los Angeles in the Summer of 05’. Upon his arrival in Los Angeles, Klosky was again eager to understand the business of what he was getting himself into and was hired by Benny Medina and Jeff Pollack of Handprint Entertainment as an Executive Assistant to Mr. Medina and Mr. Pollack where he co-managed Pamela Anderson with Handprint partner Jeff Pollack. After his stay at Handprint, Klosky made his jump from Executive Assistant and manager to the lead singer of No Face, his band that he was working on off hours after his managing job.
No Face was a big passion for Klosky while living in Los Angels for almost two years and a half years now. They took the Los Angeles music scene and the Los Angeles music fans by surprise. His idea of storytelling in music gained acceptance, loyalty and large group of fans. As a band for less than a year, No Face played LA’s top music venues from The Joint, The Sideways Lounge, and the famous Mint, The Roxy as well as a residency at The Viper Room for the month of February 2007.p
