Formed in 1998, starting out as an all female quartet but having evolved into a 5 piece band, tart is still part of the Seattle music scene. Sisters Sarah, Julia and Anna share the microphone and make up the front of the band playing guitars and electric bass. Joy (keyboards and accordion) and Brent (drums and vox) joined the band in 2004.
Over the years, they've managed to score high profile slots on the Bumbershoot, Ladyfest and Rockrgrl festivals, self-released 2 albums and an EP, and toured the West Coast multiple times.
tart is constantly exploring new genres of music which can make it difficult to explain exactly what or who they sound like.
