Ashley FIND A CURE FOR CHILDHOOD CANCER (JMML)

Hello my name is Ashley Rhianna Hall, I was born August 30th, 2006 to my parents Jeff and Cody Hall. I have a Sister, Taylor age 5 and a brother, Jordan age 4. They are the best. I was born in Bremerton Washington in the Bremerton Naval Hospital… My mommy is in the Navy… My life was great… We had great family friends a so much support. On Jan 12th, I went to my 4-month well baby check up and we found I had a small lymph node in my groin. The DR told my mommy to keep an eye on it and if it didn’t get better, or if it got worse to get it checked out. On the 13th of Jan we left Washington. We were moving to New Jersey. My mommy got a new job. This was a trip my family will never forget. On Jan 21st we got in a terrible care accident in Wisconsin. We totaled our car in a 10-car pile-up during a snowstorm. We had to stay in a hotel for a few days until we could find a way to get to Ohio…. We were going to see one on my grandmas… We got on a Greyhound to Cleveland and picked up our rental car and went to see grandma. During our car accident I caught a cold and my lymph node swelled up a bit. The next morning my mom and dad took me to the hospital to get it checked out… They sent up to the Rainbow Baby’s emergency room. Once we go there they started to do an exam. They said I had a small heart murmur so I went and has a chest x-ray, after that they said my liver and spleen were abnormally large and they wanted to do some labs. Finally they cut open the sist on my lymph node and drained it. After a few more hours the DR came in and said that I was Anemic and my white blood count was at 94000, it should be between 7000-1300. This was not a good sign. I got admitted that night and the next morning I went in for a bone marrow biopsy. SO on Jan 25th I was diagnosed with Juvenile Myelomonocytic Leukemia (JMML). My first stay in the hospital was from Jan 25th to Feb 19th. During this time my mommy had to call the Navy and try to get new orders to stay here in Cleveland to I could get the best care. They Navy was nice and let us stay. Then she has to find us a house to live in and a new car. She has all this going on and I was starting my first round of Chemo. I ended up really sick a few times during this stay. I went home for a few days and came back in for round two. During this round I found out that I was allergic to one of the chemo’s that the DR’s had giving… We had to stop the Chemo after the second round. I was sick. Then on March 28th they took my spleen out… We checked into the hospital on April 12th for my Bone Marrow Transplant. On the 13th they had to change my blood type from A to O because my donor was B . They didn’t want my body to reject it. On the 15th I started an 8-day Chemo session… The first 4 days I had Chemo every 6 hours and the last 4, I had it once a day… On the 25th I had a Bone Marrow Transplant. This made me really sick. I was in the hospital for 11 weeks. I came home on June 25th. I ended up back in the hospital the 28th to the 2nd. Now we have to go to clinic several times a week so I can have labs done and get platelets and blood. At my T 100 day I have to go back in the hospital for another bone marrow biopsy to see how well my transplant took. I am still not in the clear; JMML has over a 50% relapse rate so please keep my family in your prayers…......
