Individuals who do nothing short of living their dreams while respectfully allowing others to do likewise in peace...people who know that they're larger than the current description of "life", without being arrogant about it...magically delicious lucky charms and supremely focused pillars of strength and bravery...and anybody else who aspires to Be who they truly Are. Especially those among this lot who share some of my interests. If we don't have a few clear commonalities, please take the time to message me and explain why you'd like to add me before submitting an add request (i'm not asking for an essay, i'd just like to know what compelled you to approach me). I'm not a "trading card", and if this is what you're viewing most of your Myspace adds as, i'm the wrong cookie to contact. xoxo
Currently I'm enjoying the works of Diamanda Galas and Lene Lovich. My favorite song of all time is "Everybody is a Star" by Sly and the Family Stone. The instrumental arrangement is gorgeous and perfect in it's soulful simplicity, and the sentiments vocalized sums up how I feel about people on a good day (which thankfully is nearly every day...) I've edited this "music" part so many times, and now I think i'm done. My taste in music is all over the place but if you'd like to get a firm grip on the particulars please check many of my friend's profiles here at myspace.
Guy Maddin (every film he's ever done), Wings of Desire (Wim Wenders is brilliant), The Lost Weekend, Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, The Bad Seed, Escape From New York, Wire Therapy, Fight Club, A Christmas Story, Dolls, Buffalo 66, Koyaanisqatsi, Ghost World, 200 Cigarettes, more to come...
Upright Citizens Brigade and Strangers with Candy was so good...The Colbert Report, Sarah Silverman, Acceptable TV (Anna Manesia, Homeless James Bond, Mr. Sprinkles, etc...) Brini Maxwell...um, Kids In The Hall, Drawn Together, King of the Hill, Trailer Park Boys, A&E, HGTV, The Discovery Channel, Animal Planet. I'm not too cool to like television and I certainly have no shame when I say I sure wish I had more time for it.
...are wonderful. I have too many favorites to name them all, but always I adore David Sedaris, C.S. Lewis, Jonathan Letham, Carson McCullers, Jerry Stahl, Andy Behrman, ...Johnny Cash's "Man in Black- His Own Story in His Own Words" was an honestly written and deeply touching book that i'll probably read again. True Crime is also an interest of mine. I love Dame Darcy's Meat Cake comics. Oh, and also along the lines of fractured fairy tales, I truly love the work of Edward Gorey. Al Franken makes me laugh, and I like the three "B's" too: Bulgakov, Ballard and Batailles...oh, but of course there's always the fourth "B", for the times when my brain needs fluffy candy: BB Gun Magazine always does the trick!...
King Noah, Jesus, Somaly Mam, Tripod Tina Louise the Pit Bull (RIP) and my grandmother (her blood courses through my veins as her soul continues on)...my friends (big love for Baroness Von Bratwurst and Kitty Kat Nizzari), most children (but not all!), Fern Holland, Mother Theresa (safe choice, huh?) and Harriet Quimby. OH! And Oberon Sinclair is one of the most wonderful women i've ever met in my life. xo
