DUNSTAFFNAGE MUSIC FESTIVAL (DMFOban) 2008 Dates coming soon!!!

About Me

Thank you to all who have atended the festival and who keep coming back year on year with more & more of your freinds. Pikie and i will keep working to develop the event each year and we look forward to seeing you again in 2008. THANK YOU - mat & andy/Dunstaffnage Music Festival held on the last weekend of July (DMFOban) is the longest runing Scottish festival of truly organic beginnings, Giving the festival an amazing and unique position in the slew of more corporate events taking place year on year across the uk./It's supported by the Highlands & Islands Enterprise, and generates so much for Oban's local community rather than sourcing production elsewhere./The exciting line-ups and appearance of great bands such as The Cinematics, The Rumble Strips, 1990s, The Law, Pop-up, Wilson Tan, Red Hot Chilli Pipers and Levellers among many others is fantastic for Oban and the Argyll area. accompanying the the bands are beats from some of Scotland's best club nights with DJs such as Alex Smoke, mark robb, kid twist, Prity Ugly And the mighty Andy Pirie/A good example of visual artists at the festival is Jenny Soup who will be painting the acts in watercolours as they appear, the drawings are then animated by Gary Whiton before being projected onto the cliffs and surrounding countryside./With over 400 music festivals in the UK over 2007, the wonderful thing about Dunstaffnag is the history of the event which started as a birthday party back in 1992. we aim to provide a lively, creative and freindley atmosphere for a wide variety of signed and unsigned acts from Scotland and beyond. We are really excited that the Levellers agreed to perform and our line up in 2007 was stronger than ever, showcasing just how much musical talent we have right here in Scotland. In the Organic Beats Tent we also have some of the very best Scottish DJs like Alex Smoke, Kinky Afro, Record Playerz, Andy Pirie and Mark Robb from Regal Social Club among others. We are also thrilled at the line-up for the Roots Stage with music from Wilson Tan, the Red Hot Chilli Pipers, Fox Face, the Tannahill Weavers and Harem Scarem just for starters." /In the beautiful and unique setting of Dunstaffnage Castle we aim to serve up the best of Scottish fayre to the crowd, which last year saw an incident free, happy go lucky atmosphere.
