Sergio De La Trinidad's love for Jazz and Latin Jazz began by listening to his fathers records. At age 15, he began playing the saxophone when his father recommended that he should play an instrument. After hearing the song Reasons by Earth Wind and Fire, he knew that it was going to be the saxophone. He attended Abraham Lincoln High School where he began studying the Tenor Sax under the direction of Art Duardo. He then took classes at Pasadena City College including improvisation courses. He has performed locally with bands in LA,Starlight Bowl, Los Angeles Music Center and other venues. You can catch Sergio playing with the band Olin Groove. A group he has founded with friends who share a common interest. They play different styles such as Samba, Bossa Nova, Partido Alto, Mambo, Cha Cha Cha, Bolero, all with the same common denominator. Latin Jazz.
