Lets just face it. Everything is being labeled emo nowadays. Everything from Mainstream to Underground, its getting everywhere, and we're sick and tired of it.
NO EMO OHIO is a site for anyone and everyone who is sick of this stupid label.
NO EMO OHIO was started by (and is run by) a high school girl stuck in a small town in, you guessed it, Ohio,who loves punk rock and who is sick of these crappy Emo bands that are constantly on the radio, and is sick of these idiots waltzing around basically labeling everything "emo".
One day this girl was surfing the internet thinking "good god every single show around here is EMO. Wouldnt it be great if there were a place where people could post shows that didnt have any Emo music at all? Where people could find new (or old) bands that arent emo?" She came across this little group in Houston, Texas, called No Emo Productions that was doing just that and decided to start her own group in Ohio.
and thus NO EMO OHIO started.
Emo is a fad. A really lame fad that needs to be stopped.
So, for the sake of saving every other genre of music out there that seems to be being drowned out by this so-called "emo", and to all you who hate all of this mainstream emo music out there, heres a place where you can come to post no-emo shows and promote non emo bands.
To post a show- Send me a message with the date, place, time, and price to get in and i will gladly post it on the site for you.
to promote your band- add me, post shows, post comments, send me pics to put up on the page, etc etc but keep in mind this site is for PUNK, METAL, HARDCORE, AND GOTH BANDS ONLY. everyone else...well sorry.
Right now this site is only run and managed by one person but if anyone would like to help me out with it id be grateful.
Im hoping to get bands together and host my own shows eventually. Im also hoping to get flyers out supporting the site, and its bands. Eventually, once i get a logo, Id like to make t-shirts and stuff too.
TO ALL WHO MAY BE OFFENDED BY ANY OF THIS: I have nothing against you for liking emo or emo music, Im just against the label, and sick and tired of how widely its used nowadays.
