Emo Kid The Comic

About Me

*NEW*Number 15: Emo Kid Loses The Game
Comments&Blog .
Emo Kid was originally started as an intended comic book by Seamus Quigley and Liam Lee. It began as a joke about Seamus in their chemistry and physics labs, and as the jokes kept rolling it started to develop into something.
To say the comic book didn't last long is simultaneously very wrong and very right. After years of drawing it very slowly the planned book was aborted, partially because they never scraped together enough funds to self publish a small run, and partially because Seamus realised he couldn't write well enough to create a comic strip.
In the meantime they had released one or two webcomics, a process they decided to continue with, this too was hampered by Liam's interminably slow drawing. After Liam left to China Seamus found a new artist, Darcie Cohen and the comics have been flowing every Friday since.
The (inevitable) disclaimer:
This comic should not be viewed as an outright attack on the Emo 'scene,' nor a champion of its values. It is merely a vessel to poke some light hearted fun at a variety of societies cliques and labels as well as something of a homage to some of the comic book world's better known characters. If any of this offends you then we're sorry but you obviously take yourself far too seriously. Also any likeness or similarity to any person is purely coincidental (and lets face it, nigh unavoidable)

Number 13: Emo Kid Endorses Obama

What right do I have to comment on the American election/primaries? None really. I do take something of an interest though, and that's because, like it or not, it does have a big effect on the rest of...

Number 12: Emo Kid Channels Jack Thompson

Why Japanese dating sims? It basically boils down to that it just seemed right for EK, also it completed the 'joke.'   I was a bit reluctant to release this one. The computer games webcomic gen...

Number 11: Emo Kid Laments Social Interaction

So I'll admit it right now, it didn't happen exactly like this weeks strip. I'm not above my own scorn, and here's why. I was in the pub talking to someone, I think it was Gary. We were talking about ...

Number 10: Emo Kid Discovers Internet Memes

To the best of my knowledge no one has ever made a comic strip like this one before. That said, the joke is so obvious that it must've been made, in some incarnation or another, before. Maybe in a for...

Number 8: Emo Kid Goes To Amsterdam, Part 2

Ok, so Amsterdam, Part 2. I didn't write this one in Amsterdam, it was later. That's probably why it has so much more text. I can't really remember how I came up with the idea, but to answer Darcie's ...
